Workshop Preparation
First thing's first: you need a date and location!
Time and Date
The workshop is designed to last three hours, which means it can be held during either an afternoon or an evening. Examples include:
- 5:30 - 8:30 PM on a weekday evening
- 1:00 - 4:00 PM on a Saturday afternoon
Venue
# of attendees: 10 or less
These small events can be held in almost any office or meeting space, especially if the workshop is being held during an evening or weekend when meeting space is typically unused.
Possible Venues
- Meeting space of local company after hours
- Your local library
- Meeting space in a cafe
- Co-working space
- Ask the workshop participants if they're able to offer their space
Venue Requirements
There is no magic workshop formula, but in general you'll need the following:
- Tables for attendees and chairs for each participant
- Reliable power and plug-in points for everyone's computer
- Wireless internet
- Quiet, so that people can hear each other
Helpful, but not required
- Projector and screen so that the group can follow your demo
- Coffee, tea and water
- Snacks
